It was a rather boring day, so I took the camera and headed to the island Vir. The clouds were barely visible ’cause of the mild mist – a nightmare for picture taking! Then it came to me – infrared photography! And that’s how it was, in the end. I kept shooting in the infrared area and this panorama is the result of putting together six vertical photos.
A few minutes from the sea in a rather unexpected place there’s a Church of Saint Vid. When the weather is bright and the sky is streaked with clouds this would be the ideal position for shooting (taking pictures). In the background, you can see the island of Pag and mountain Velebit. The ideal time for taking shots would be in the morning, but as I was, already, there I took several panoramas and went for a stroll to the sea, afterward! There I met the night, after all! The full moon was just a bonus. I didn’t leave until I managed to take the photo of Nin surrounded by the moonlight and the reflection of the moon in the sea, as well.
The church of St Vid (14th century) is the only older preserved church on the peninsula of Privlaka, and it used to be the parish church of the village of Kupar. St. Vid is a patron saint of pharmacist, brewers, dancers, actors and deaf. It has not been used, and today the Mass is held there only on St Vid’s day, on June 15.
